Students are at the heart of what we do. As the Division of Student Affairs we are committed to assisting students in developing the values of character, conscience, civility and citizenship; an appreciation of diversity and individual and social responsibility. We offer a wide range of services and support to keep your day-to-day affairs as a student running smoothly, allowing you to concentrate on academic and personal success.

As the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, my role is to assist and support you in achieving your academic and personal goals. Should you need additional assistance in utilizing the processes presented in the student conduct code, navigating the grievance and appeals procedures, understanding the student disciplinary procedures or just a familiar face – do not hesitate to call upon any student affairs staff member. We seek to intentionally promote student learning and development through varied, high-quality services, programs and opportunities that will allow you to balance the components of intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth

College is a time to learn and grow. Exposure to diversity—of ideas, people and activities—is crucial to a well-rounded education. If you look around, that is what you will find here at Prairie View A & M University. You will find staff, faculty and administrators that are dedicated to supporting your well-being, growth and success. Please use this website to explore the variety of things that are available to you. If you don’t find what you are looking for contact me. Your questions, concerns, comments, and suggestions are always welcome, and will help me in my role as a student advocate.

What you do and learn here—from making friends to acquiring valuable skills—will last you a lifetime.

Welcome to the Hill,
Mr. Steve Ransom
