Unit Mission

Consistent with the tripartite mission and institutional goals of Prairie View A & M University and the Division of Business Affairs, our unit mission is to promote and provide a discrimination and harassment free workplace; learning and living environment where every employee, student and visitor is valued as an individual and is treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation or gender identity. This mission is accomplished through compliance, education and intervention.

Consistent with the University’s mission of research, teaching, and service, and it’s commitment to achieving relevance in each component of its mission by addressing issues and proposing solutions through programs and services designed to respond to the needs and aspirations of individuals, our goal is a commitment to providing effective equal opportunity and affirmative action programs that focus on ensuring that all members of the university community enjoy fair competition for jobs, and equal access to a quality education and university resources.

Vision

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity strives to foster an academic community where diverse people have an equal opportunity to work and learn to their fullest potential and are judged solely on their performance or job criteria.
