The Prairie View A&M University College of Business Mentor/Protégé Connection (IMPACT) offers students the opportunity to develop their professional insights and networks through the guidance of a career mentor.  Mentoring has proven to be an effective strategy that can contribute significantly to professional development.

IMPACT is expected to be a bonus to all parties in the relationship.  Student protégés will immediately benefit from assistance with career development, lifestyle enhancement, goal achievement and other areas mutually designated by the mentor and protégé.  Mentors develop a deeper awareness of their behavior and improve interpersonal skills in listening, modeling and leading for personal growth.  Moreover, IMPACT will enable alums, industry professionals, and professionals to connect with the College of Business and current and future colleagues in their field.

Eligible mentors are PVAMU Alumni, faculty, staff, professionals and entrepreneurs who meet program criteria, have completed training and have been approved by the program coordinators.

Applications for Spring 2023 will be available after January 17, 2023.

IMPACT Mentor Information and Sign Up

After a meeting of professionals and students in 2005 to start the program, the IMPACT Mentoring program launched online in February 2020.  Following an application and approval, students, alumni and professionals can register via an online platform to be matched for a semester or year-long mentoring relationship.  Professionals and alumni can also sign up for additional support such as mock interviews, resume reviews, information interviews and other meaningful engagements.
