About the Center

The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) was established with a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Activities and programs available through the CIE are designed to support and strengthen the existing programs and infrastructure in entrepreneurship across the entire PV campus. This enables the Center to serve all students in all disciplines at Prairie View A&M University.

What is entrepreneurship?

  • Entrepreneurship is a baseline skill for all students.
  • Entrepreneurship is a language, a structured process, a way of looking at the world that enables you to visualize and experience what preparation and determination can do when put into action.
  • You are an entrepreneur anytime you initiate transformation through risk-taking actions and value creating organizations.
  • Entrepreneurs are the ones that make things happen. That takes focus, diligence, discipline, flexibility and perseverance. They can take an innovative idea and make it impactful. Successful entrepreneurs are also ones who take challenges in stride, adapt and adjust plans to accommodate whatever problems do come up.

What can the Center do for me?

Participating in the Center’s programs will enable student entrepreneurs to have the critical and creative thinking skills to recognize an opportunity, a problem or a change in the world that they can take advantage of.
