  • Please Note: A new Academic Department website must be approved by the Dean of your College and it is the Dean that submits this request.
  • Please Note: A new Research Center website must be for a Research Center that is registered with the Office of Research. If you do not have a registered research center, you may have the local Web Author of your Departmental website create a section for you within your departmental website.
  • (Webservices will review your request)
  • The url of the new site will have the form http://www.pvamu.edu/thenewsite How do you want your site website url to read?
  • The title of the new site is usually your department name such as Office of X, College of Y or Department of Z.
  • The site must target PVAMU students or PVAMU employees. However, in case the target audience is neither, we will consider your request and contact you soon.
  • Please Note: Sites whose target audience is not students directly can be created in an intranet setting. However, the new site will be hosted on a separate server (i.e intranet.pvamu.edu/yourwebsite).
  • Website Content

  • Content includes text and images that will be placed in each page. A site cannot be created having blank pages. Content must be ready for each page that is created within the new site and this content is provided by you.
  • The content can be text and/or any images. Please submit a Word document with text for each web page that you want created. We cannot create a website that is blank and has no content. In case the content will be migrated between sites, you may skip this step.

    • Website Owner Details

    • The Website Owner can be one of the following:
      • For an Academic College website: the Dean of the College
      • For an Academic Department website: the Department Head
      • For a Research Center website: the Director of the Research Center
      • For an Administrative Office website: the Director of the Office
    • Please use the pvamu email address
    • Web Author Details

    • There are certain tasks in WordPress that are very simple to do, such as posting an announcement or an event. We can train someone that you appoint and/or yourself and provide access to your website.

      Let us know who will do very basic tasks on the website. They will be Web Authors for your website and ensure that text is always up-to-date. Webservices provides Basic WordPress training to users appointed as Web Authors by the Website Owner (The Director).

      Note that a Website Owner may also include himself or herself as a Web Author and have access to edit the new Website once it is created. There is no limit on the number of Web Authors that a website may have. You may appoint whoever you would like to have access to your site.
