What is your TSI Status?

Testers knowing what sections of the TSI they have to take is vitally important because it can save time and money.

If you believe you qualify for a TSI Exemption (list of exemption can found here), please ensure that all documentation has been sent and articulated by the appropriate PVAMU office in the system, as well as, make sure the exemption has been reflected in the system by the PVAMU TSI office.

If you have already taken the TSIA at another Texas institution: you need to complete the PVAMU CIR Form here, so the PVAMU TSI office can retrieve the scores from the other institution’s Accuplacer system and upload them in the PVAMU University system.

TSI Hold Explanation

To view your TSI hold, log into PV Place, click on Panthertracks, go to “Student and Financial Aid” , click “Student Records” , then “View Holds” to know your final TSI status.

On the View Holds screen, you may or may not see a TSI Hold.

  • If there is no TSI Hold, you are college-ready in all three areas (Math, Reading, and Writing).
  • If there is a TSI Hold, the descriptions below can help identify your TSI Status:

  • TSI Hold New Student – no exemptions or TSI scores have been submitted for all three areas.
  • Initial Test Required – partial exemptions or TSI scores have already been received in at least one area. Additional TSI tests or exemptions are still needed.
  • Requirement Not Met – TSI scores have been received and processed in all three areas.
  • Test Accommodations

Test Accommodations are available for the TSI for testers with documented disabilities. All testers are obligated to self-identify and must request Test Accommodations every time they want to test. Testers must submit and have test accommodations approved prior to registering for the TSI. Testers can find the process for submitting Test Accommodation requests to PVAMU Testing Services here.
