PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (April 10, 2024) – Rania Labib, Ph.D. has been awarded nearly $100,000 in grant funding by the National Science Foundation.

Labib is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the School of Architecture at Prairie View A&M University.

The proposal for this grant outlines an initiative focused on studying the development and implementation of a digital twin system. This system aims to simulate and optimize building performance within the framework of adaptive reuse planning. Adaptive reuse, which involves repurposing existing buildings for new uses, is fundamental to sustainable urban development.
