PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (January 18, 2024) – Alfred Parks, Ph.D. has been awarded over $500,000 by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

Parks is a Scientist and Professor of College of Agriculture and Human Sciences at Prairie View A&M University.

The Co-PI is Rukeia Draw-Hood, Ph.D., Program Leader of the 4H Development Extension Program.

The grant aims to increase the number of students recruited, retained, graduated, and entering the food and agricultural workforce from the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences. As part of achieving the program objectives, program leaders will promote scholars’ participation in high-impact student experiences, such as undergraduate research and study abroad programs.
