Noel Estwick, Ph.D.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (January 28, 2022) Noel Estwick, Ph. D., assistant professor in Prairie View A&M University’s College of Agriculture and Human Sciences (CAHS), earned $200,000 from the 1890 Universities Foundation.  Estwick will use the funds to support his research project Utilizing Technology to Enhance Food Security and Agricultural Disaster Resilience in the Caribbean.

The research aims to foster collaborations with Jamaica and the Bahamas.  The study aims to utilize technology to strengthen food security and enhance agricultural disaster resilience.

Co-principal investigators for Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) are Sharon McWhinney, Ph.D., Paul Johnson, Ph.D., Peter Ampim, Ph.D., Ram Ray, Ph.D., and Kwaku Addo, Ph.D..  The PVAMU personnel has global experiences that include Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Estwick will leverage the expertise and experience of PVAMU personnel with researchers from Langston University, Kentucky State University, and Central State University in this collaborative venture.
