Facts about strangulation:
- Strangulation is an automatic felony in the state of Texas.
- This is a felony punishable by two to ten years for the first offense, and two to twenty years for repeat convictions.
- Victims may die from internal injuries from strangulation up to 72 hours after the incident has occurred.
