College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board

The objective of the Dean’s Advisory Board is to provide strategic or programmatic advice, cultivate political influence, and to support fundraising activities of the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering.

The responsibilities of the Dean’s Advisory Board are:

 Become informed advocates of the programs and opportunities offered by the College of Engineering by:

  • attending semi-annual advisory board meetings
  • promoting the College’s programs to friends, colleagues, and associates
  • identifying potential University donors, facilitating introductions, and/or providing contact information of potential donors to appropriate University personnel.

At the invitation of the Dean, assist with special projects and activities such as:

Serving on search committees:

  • assisting with the selection scholarship recipients
  • assisting with alumni awards nominations and candidate selection
  • assisting with High School recruiting and outreach
  • assisting with electronic forms of outreach to alumni and students
  • assisting with electronic forms of outreach for recruiting faculty and students
  • facilitating the development and the activity of other College advisory boards (e.g., student, departmental, community).

Providing input and advice to the Dean’s friends of the College and the University by:

  • providing an external perspective regarding the College’s reputation and image
  • providing an external perspective regarding student preparation for the job market, and employer satisfaction with recently hired graduates in their organizations
  • providing recommendations for effective curriculum development and evolution
  • providing input on Mission, Vision, and strategic plans of the College as it relates to the reputation and image of the College.

Assisting in identifying and communicating effectively with alumni and friends of the

College of Engineering in their community by:

  • helping to organize, fund and support alumni events
  • participating in fundraising activities
  • identifying and networking with alumni; and in recruiting advocates of the College.

 Fees:
