The new $70 million-dollar 106,000 square foot Engineering Classroom and Research Building (EnCARB) provides  classroom instruction, with 6 generalized instructional classrooms and 14 specialized labs. The 20 lab spaces support multidisciplinary research in energy and sustainability, data analytics and artificial intelligence, robotics, structural analysis, 3-D manufacturing, and more. The building was designed to provide state-of-the-art technical spaces that support the hands-on learning and research activities that are critical to engineering. With a focus on connectivity, the building design is organized to provide spatial connections to increase the connectivity of students and faculty as well as create energy and opportunities for collaboration.   The building provides spatial openings to showcase emerging technologies and the exciting engineering activities going on in the building every day. The building has great outdoor spaces to enhance campus life and culture as well as showcase engineering projects, host events, competitions and invite other disciplines to engage.
