Space Inventory

All public higher education institutions in the state must submit an annual facility inventory report to the THECB to fulfill provisions of the Higher Education Coordinating Act of 1965 as amended (codified as Subtitle B, Chapter 61, Texas Education Code, 1971). The amount, type, and use of physical space are components used to determine each institution’s funding.

The Department of Campus Planning and Space Management shall distribute an annual survey to each campus user to verify the accuracy of the information contained in the department’s space inventory.

Inventory updates for all entities must be completed and submitted for approval by the deadline below.

Note: Please code rooms based on their planned function for Fall 2023.

Administering the Space Survey

The space survey is administered via Microsoft Excel sheets and Microsoft Outlook email until the new Facility Management database is live.

Floor Plans

Floor plans can be useful when conducting the survey. Each Space Representative will receive floor plans for their department’s space if available along with their survey.
