PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (March 18, 2024) — Clarence Bunch, Ph.D., has secured $104,264 in grant funding from the US Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Services.

Bunch is a Program Manager III for the College of Food and Natural Resources, Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC), at Prairie View A&M University.

The grant, facilitated by the American Forest Foundation through USDA NRCS, is directed through the CAHS Small Farm Institute. Its primary objective is to offer outreach and technical support to farmers, thereby enhancing educational training opportunities for future landowners. These initiatives focus on promoting the benefits of sustainable forest practices, climate-smart agriculture, heirship, and estate and succession planning. Additionally, the grant encourages student involvement and engagement in natural resources, cultivating a new generation of landowners.
