The deadline for packets for admission to clinical teaching (traditional and year-long residency) for FA24 is April 26, 2024 by 5pm.
You must submit your completed packet to your advisor.
(GPA 2.75, Interview, Reference with Disposition Survey, Writing sample, Rep Test Score 75%, and Student Disposition Survey.)
CUIN 3300 Educational Foundations & CUIN 3301 Educational Psychology
- GPA 2.75
- Rep Test Score > 75%
- Satisfactory scores on indicators (Rubric scores of 2 or higher)
- Exit with a class grade of “B” or higher
- (Utilize study materials, qualify for permission to take the State Certification Examination in the content area. Immediately upon reaching the criteria for testing, register to take the examination within one (1) month. Beyond two (2) months since meeting the criteria for testing, the student will need to complete additional preparation before receiving approval to take the state Certification Examination). Students will need to take and pass the State Certification Examination before enrolling in the CUIN 4000 courses.
CUIN 4310 Instructional Planning and Assessment & CUIN 4311 Instructional Methods and Classroom Management
- Exit with a class grade of “B” or higher
- (Utilize study materials, qualify for permission to take the State Certification Examination in the PPR. Immediately upon reaching the criteria for testing, register to take the examination within one (1) month. Beyond two (2) months since meeting the criteria for testing, the student will need to complete additional preparation before receiving approval to take the state Certification Examination).
- Students will not be able to enroll into clinical teaching courses without passing at least the content area certification examination.
