Dr. Rahim Quazi
Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
Dr. Quazi oversees faculty recruitment, credentialing, appointments, promotions, tenure processes, and professional development, ensuring compliance with institutional policies while fostering faculty well-being and productivity. He plays a key role in advancing faculty affairs initiatives to support academic excellence.”
Previously, Dr. Quazi was a Professor of Economics at the College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a BA in economics from Illinois Wesleyan University. His research spans economics, business education, and international business, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He has secured multiple research grants, including three U.S. Department of Education BIE grants, and has received numerous awards for teaching, research, and service. He plays a key role in advancing Faculty Affairs’ initiatives to support academic excellence.

Dr. Hussein supports strategic initiatives in the Office of Faculty Affairs that strengthen faculty management and development. He assists in streamlining processes for faculty promotions, tenure, and professional development, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a supportive academic environment.
