Pamela Obiomon, PhD Dean of the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering

Welcome from the dean of engineering at the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering.

Whether you are coming to us as an engineering student, faculty member, staff member, researcher, or scientist, we promise your journey will be exciting, challenging, and a wonderful springboard to careers.

The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University has a rich history and tradition of “Producing Productive Engineers”. Offering six Bachelor of Science degrees and five graduate degrees in engineering, the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering is a top producer of black engineering graduates. The Bachelor of Science Degrees includes Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.  The five Graduate Degrees include General Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering.

Faculty, research scientists, and undergraduate/graduate students are involved in various research projects in our twelve outstanding research centers.  In the research centers students develop innovative ways to create change in our environment.  Whether it’s improving the electric power grid, treating cancer with prescriptive medicine, improving the transportation infrastructure, developing solutions to minimize the impact of climate change, preparing soldiers for future high-tech wars or minimizing cyberattacks: our engineers play a major role.  Additionally, faculty engage students with hands-on projects where they connect theory and practice. Some of the best engineers in the world come from the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University.

The college provides students with the highest level of quality education.  Our faculty are knowledgeable in their fields and have demonstrated extraordinary accomplishments such as publishing over 70 engineering textbooks and serving as IEEE fellows and Fulbright scholars and owners of patents.

This is an exciting time and a great place to pursue an engineering degree at the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering.

Sincerely,
Pamela Holland Obiomon, PhD.
