We recommend that you meet with your assigned Academic Advisor before registering each semester. If you are unable to meet with your advisor, don’t worry. Your advisor has created a graduation plan for you in Degree Works using the new Student Educational Planner (SEP) feature to help ensure you stay on track for graduation.

How to Register for classes in PantherTracks
Step-by-Step Registration Guide

Before You Register:

  1. Log into PantherTracks and check for any active holds
    • TSI Holds
This hold usually does not prevent registration. However, if you have not tested in all required areas (math, reading, writing) or do not have exemptions on file, it may block registration. Contact your advisor if you are unsure.
    • Balance Due Hold
You can register if your balance is under $200.
    • Admissions Hold (AD)
      This
means Admissions is missing required documents (such as a final transcript).
      Please
      contact admissions:
      admissions@pvamu.edu
      (936) 261-1000 (Option 3)
    • 0 State Drops Remaining
You have used the maximum of six course drops allowed by the State of Texas. To add or drop a course, submit an Add/Drop form through: PVPlace → Registrar Forms
Note: Your advisor must approve it before the Office of the Registrar can process it.
    • Advisor Hold
First-Time Freshmen for the current semester and all new incoming students will have an Advising Hold that must be cleared by their Academic Advisor before registration.
    • Athletic Hold
Please contact your athletic advisor for assistance.
  2. Review your classification and academic standing
    • ContinuingStudents
Log into PVPlace and access PantherTracks to register after reviewing your SEP plan in DegreeWorks or meeting with your Academic Advisor.
    • New Incoming Freshmen
Your advisor will register you during New Student Orientation.
    • New Incoming Transfer Students: You will register yourself with the assistance of your advisor during New Student Orientation.
    • Returning Students
If you have been inactive due to non-concurrent enrollment, you must reapply for admission. Students returning after suspension must complete the Return
from Suspension form to be reinstated. For registration dates and deadlines, view the academic calendar.
