How Panthers Discover What Makes Them Powerful

At Prairie View A&M University, PantherStrengths is how students discover and develop what makes them strong. Through this campus-wide approach, strengths development becomes part of the Panther experience to drive student success and help every Panther grow, excel, and prepare for what’s next.

PantherStrengths, PVAMU’s name for CliftonStrengths, is integrated into courses, advising, leadership programs, and career development so students can apply their strengths every day.

PantherStrengths creates a shared language across campus that strengthens connection, collaboration, and leadership, ensuring students are consistently supported in reaching their full potential.

We’ve all wondered who we are and what makes us unique.

The CliftonStrengths assessment answers those questions. This online test measures the intensity of your talents in each of the 34 CliftonStrengths themes. These 34 themes represent what people do best. They categorize all that’s right with humankind, distilled down to 34 different themes. The CliftonStrengths assessment produces a report featuring customized descriptions of your dominant strengths in ranked order.

About CliftonStrengths

The CliftonStrengths assessment, developed by Dr. Don Clifton and created by Gallup, is grounded in decades of research on human talent and potential. Through extensive interviews conducted in the 1990s, researchers identified patterns of natural talent that can be developed into strengths and applied to enhance personal and professional effectiveness.

The CliftonStrengths assessment is an online tool that can be completed in under an hour, providing individuals with a personalized strengths profile to better understand and intentionally apply what they naturally do best.

“I gained a deeper understanding of the talents and superpowers that shape the way I lead, serve, and connect with others. I strive to be someone who inspires others, creates space for every voice, finds solutions, and leads with vision and purpose. As SGA President, PantherStrenths is a tool I will use throughout my administration to lead with intention, build stronger teams, and maximize the strengths of those around me, and I will continue to carry it with me long after graduation in both my personal and professional journey.”
