Prairie View, Texas (December 12, 2024) — The ” Division of Research & Innovations’ Innovation, Commercialization, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (ICEED) area of Prairie View A&M University hosted its “From Idea to Impact” seminar, providing a detailed roadmap for transforming innovative ideas into tangible results.

The session emphasized the importance of starting with a well-defined problem or unmet need and aligning solutions with societal, economic, or environmental goals. Presenters highlighted the importance of feasibility, addressing market demands, and ensuring scalability to create innovations that stand out and achieve sustainable growth.

Key strategies included fostering collaboration through diverse networks, mentorship opportunities, and strategic partnerships. ICEED outlined its role in supporting entrepreneurship by offering resources such as intellectual property management, research commercialization, and industry connections. Participants were encouraged to leverage networking as a cornerstone of innovation, with ICEED offering tools and platforms to build meaningful connections.

Funding opportunities were also a focal point. The presentation detailed various options, including SBIR/STTR grants, angel investors, venture capital, and crowdfunding, as essential resources for early-stage innovators. Practical advice for crafting impactful pitches was shared, emphasizing the need for a clear problem statement, unique solutions, and actionable calls to propel ideas forward.
