The new Panther Collaboration and Innovation Commons (Panther CIC) is a treasure trove of information about Prairie View A&M University’s heritage in a comfortable, digitally enhanced environment that fosters academic success. Located on the third floor of the J.B. Coleman Library, it was created to encourage student collaboration in the present, inspired by quotes and images from the past, while contemplating future innovations. The vision began under the coordination of Demitris Cambric and John Gardner and was brought to fruition by the Center for Instructional Innovation and Technology Services (CIITS) under the leadership of Charlene Stubblefield.

Panther CIC provides digital resources needed for course work, research, and experience for future employment such as digital video and audio, images and animation, digital presentations and more. The space features three murals; the first mural is designed by an alumni, the second is designed by the PVAMU student mural winner, and the third is a mosaic of images designed by students from H.T. Jones Elementary. Inspirational quotes from past and present PVAMU leaders will also be displayed throughout the space. The floor distinctly displays the University’s Purple and Gold colors; the old gold on the round columns and half walls, and the new gold on the ceiling grid.
