2024 Fall Open House

The College of Nursing Spring Open House will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in Houston. Attendees will learn about the history and scope of our university and its admissions requirements, financial aid programs, and scholarship opportunities. Before a tour of the facility, attendees will meet the dean, faculty, and students as they share motivational guidance, their nursing experiences, and "life nuggets" for a positive transition to nursing. As future health professionals, students will receive an overview of “Wellness in Houston,” emphasizing that a healthy lifestyle is a daily choice. Information from the Office of Pre-Nursing Advising and Nursing Admissions will guide potential students to successfully apply to Upper Division Clinical Studies in the Texas Medical Center.

Career Coach from the Center for Careers and Professional Development

In conjunction with the State Fair Classic, coordinated by Dr. Agatha Ampaire, Career Coach from the Center for Careers and Professional Development, nursing, health, public health, and social work students participated in a career tour at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. This tour marks the fourth year of the partnership with the hospital. Prairie View Nursing Alums, other professionals, and hospital executives shared their experiences and career development at the hospital and gave "insider" job search tips.

Nursing Leadership Lecture Series title: Health Care, Education & Stakeholders
