Pinning CON Drive Thru Team Faculty Alumni And Students

“2020 was declared the Year of the Nurse prior to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The role of nurses and other healthcare providers has been highlighted in this unprecedented year. The College of Nursing has continued to prepare nurses to send into the workforce during this unique time. Today, we celebrated our graduates for their accomplishments.”

Led by Dr. Keshea Britton, faculty advisor for the graduating class, the drive-thru parade took place in place of the traditional Graduate Exit Luncheon. The customary Pinning Ceremony, put together by students this year, historically marks an entrance into the nursing profession.

Several CON graduates will start work in the coming weeks at Harris Health (Ben Taub and LBJ), Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, The Woman’s Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, HCA Clear Lake, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
