Overview

The Pathways to Progress – Summer Series is a structured professional development initiative designed to support non-supervisory staff in strengthening core competencies aligned with Prairie View A&M University’s institutional priorities. The program consists of six two-hour learning sessions delivered over six weeks, followed by a capstone presentation and recognition session, totaling 12 professional development hours. The series emphasizes self-awareness, collaboration, communication, innovation, and strategic thinking to enhance individual and departmental effectiveness.

Program Objectives

  • Strengthen foundational professional competencies for non-supervisory staff
  • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration and engagement
  • Align individual contributions with university goals and priorities
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in daily operations
  • Develop practical skills that participants can immediately apply within their roles

  • Week 1: Introduction & Practice 1: Align Purpose & Performance
  • Week 2: Practice 2: Communicate as a Coach
  • Week 3: Practice 3: Delegate to Elevate
  • Week 4: Practice 4: Use Feedback as Fuel
  • Week 5: Practice 5: Gain, Don’t Drain, Energy
  • Week 6: Practice 6: Leverage 1-on1s to Win
  • Week 7: Capstone Presentation and Recognition

Participants will work in teams throughout the program to develop a capstone project focused on applying concepts learned to real workplace opportunities.
