Prairie View A&M University adopted Taskstream as its official Assessment Management System.  Taskstream will be used to assist the university with advancing educational excellence using a web-based assessment tool to enhance continuous improvement use the following steps:

  • Define- Document and map learning outcomes
  • Plan- Create plans that demonstrate how outcomes will be measured and define targets for those measures
  • Implement- Gather data using appropriate methods and instruments
  • Analyze- Critically examine implementation results for areas of success and needed improvement.  Identify the effects of previous improvement actions to “close the loop”.
  • Utilize- Identify improvement initiatives and create action items

Why do I have to use Taskstream?  It is the university’s official Assessment Management System
When do I start using Taskstream? Starting Fall2014, all university courses assessed for accreditation purposes will use Taskstream
Do all PVAMU courses use Taskstream? No, only courses selected by your deans, departments heads and assessments coordinators
The last time we were training to use Taskstream, faculty have to update the Taskstream link in eCourses.  Is that still necessary?

How do I get my students accustomed to using Taskstream? Have them complete the following step to confirm they are able to access it:
1) login into eCourses
2) click on the “Taskstream Student Access” to confirm they have access
When I access Taskstream, I do not see a complete list of my students, why? The way Taskstream works is each student much access Taskstream before you can evaluate them. Even if your assignment does not require students to upload anything, you still should have them complete step 5.
Is there technical assistance or face-to-face Taskstream training available for my students? Yes, email taskstream@pvamu.edu with your request
When should I evaluate my students? Once students start upload assignments is be best time to begin the evaluation process. Waiting until the end of the semester not advised.
Who created the rubrics used in Taskstream, they do not match my course rubric? Taskstream Coordinator created the rubric
Who was my departments Taskstream Coordinator? Contact your department head for this information
What do I do if my class is not using Taskstream? Confirm with your department head that this is correct and after that there is nothing for you to do
How do I get Taskstream Reports? Contact your department head or email dlearning@pvamu.edu to request this information
How long will PVAMU be using Taskstream?? Until otherwise specified by the university administration
