Program Integrity Rule

The recently issued United States Department of Education Program Integrity Rule for Distance Education requires Prairie View A&M University to provide all prospective and current students with the contact information of the state agency or agencies that handle complaints against postsecondary education institutions offering distance learning or correspondence education to students within that state. Students are encouraged to utilize the Prairie View Compact with Texans procedures through the various campus offices prior to filing a complaint with an external state agency or agencies. If an adequate local resolution of a complaint is not made, the following information is provided.

Prairie View A&M University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097) as a comprehensive public institution of higher education authorized to award Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees, and is a member of the Texas A&M University System (200 Technology Way, College Station, TX 77845). As a Texas state institution of Higher Education, Prairie View A&M University is also governed by the rules of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (1200 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752).

NC-SARA Complaint Process

What is NC-SARA?
Prairie View A&M University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement is a voluntary agreement that establishes comparable national standards for postsecondary distance education between its member states.
