CIVIL ENGINEERING ADVISING PROTOCOL
Advisement/Registration Checklist
✓ Make an appointment with your Advisor – Consult the Advisor-Advisee List PROVIDED VIA EMAIL on 10/30/2023 (NOT THE LIST BELOW). If you DID NOT receive an email with your faculty advisor assignment, please send an email request to Ms. Love [chlove@PVAMU.EDU]. Your advisor information will be promptly provided. Prior to advisement, be sure to update your academic progress using the Civil Engineering Degree Plan.
✓ THE ONLY available Degree Plans in Civil Engineering are 2019-2020, 2020-2021,2021-2022 and 2022-2023. If YOUR Degree Plan IS NOT one of the above, YOU must submit a MOVE CATALOG YEAR form. Please consult your Advisor regarding the protocol for processing this form.
PS: If you are unsure about the Degree Plan you are currently on, please login to https://mydegreeworks.pvamu.edu/. The Academic Year listed in Degreeworks is your current Degree Plan.
✓ BEFORE your Advisement session: Select the courses you plan to take in the next semester(s) based on pre- and co-requisite Engineering/Science/Math/English courses you have completed with a grade of “C” (or better) {a grade of “D” (or better) is required for some CORE courses} posted on your transcript. Indicate any applicable transfer course(s) used to satisfy specific CVEG Program requirements. USE DEGREEWORKS TO CONFIRM/CROSSCHECK YOUR ACADEMIC PROGRESS. Complete the Registration Form by LISTING selected courses (CRN & Course Number, e.g., 20523 CVEG 2301 P01). Provide the tentative Registration Form during your advisement session.
✓ DURING your advisement session: FINALIZE your semester schedule. The FINALIZED Registration form must be subsequently ROUTED via DocuSign to your Advisor for digital endorsement. This is VERY important.
NOTE: DocuSign is used to secure ANY required endorsements. Therefore your form will be ROUTED using DocuSign.
Your Alternate PIN will ONLY be provided AFTER advisement.
