Prairie View A&M University Wellness in Houston joined the Spiritual Care Network and other organizations in building partnerships that focus on strengthening the communities in Harris and surrounding counties that struggle with various kinds of addictions.

SCN is a faith-based organization that uses its platform to connect organizations, churches, community centers, addiction clinics, and more! Their goal is to bridge the gap between mental health and addiction through spiritual practices. They also recognize how these things can affect eating habits, so the event focused on mindful nutrition efforts.

The January 12 event covered the issues and lack of access families are facing regarding eradicating addiction. The Wellness in Houston team developed events and resource fairs that will benefit the communities.

Other organizations that participated included NAMI of Greater Houston, Eating Recovery Center, and Archway Academy along with a few others.
