For more than 15 years, Army veteran and alumnus Maurice Perkins (’99) has identified client marketing and communications needs — offering practical short-term and long-term solutions.

Currently the Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Minnesota – Boynton Health, Maurice is responsible for strategic communications, media relations, and marketing/communications project management. Along the journey to this role, Maurice was a PVAMU radio/TV major and KPVU DJ, known for founding and helping to develop the PVU-Kno student-run radio station on campus.

Maurice continued to serve PVAMU as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences from 2014 – 2018, where he was creator and founder of the 1890s Land-Grant Communications Summit, which was nationally recognized by the United States Department of Agriculture. He later joined the Office of Marketing & Communications, serving in the role of Communications Manager until July 2019.
