The Prairie View A&M University Police Department will be hosting the New Detective School on January 23, 2023, through January 26, 2023. Class time will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The success of a criminal prosecution begins with a thorough and effective investigation. This course will give new detectives and criminal investigators a comprehensive review of their responsibilities in an investigation and the broad array of issues and factors that must be taken into account as the investigation proceeds. It provides practical approaches to overall investigations, witness interviews, suspect interrogations, and preparing a case for successful prosecution.
This four-day course examines procedures for a wide range of criminal activities, from injury and death investigations to sex crimes, to financial and other property crimes. Participants will be involved in practical exercises and review case studies of actual crime investigations.

3. Eyewitness Identification (photo lineup) with a video presentation by each student

9. Polygraph Usage
10. Crime Scene Investigations, students will do hands-on in finding/collecting/packaging physical evidence
plus lab on casting, Mikrosil, Magnetic Powders, photographs, etc.
