The project, titled “Machine Learning Analysis of Hyperspectral Confocal Fluorescence Microscopy Data,” will focus on enhancing the identification and localization of photosynthetic pigments in plant cells. By combining spatial and spectral data from Hyperspectral Confocal Fluorescence Microscopy (HCFM) images, the research moves beyond traditional methods that rely solely on spectral analysis.

The funding supports Prairie View A&M University’s continued efforts in cutting-edge bioenergy research and demonstrates the growing role of machine learning in agricultural and plant sciences.
