The Parent Council (PC) is a rewarding way to share in your student’s college years. Council members take an active role at the University by serving as liaisons between the University and parents. Ideal members are energetic, creative, and dedicated to the improvement of the University and it’s support of students and their families.

THE PRAIRIE VIEW A&M UNIVERSITY PARENT COUNCIL IS PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WHO:

  • Provide insight from the parent/family perspective
  • Act as a liaison between PVAMU Parents/Family members and the Division of Student Affairs
  • Support the University and encourages other parents to do the same

Requirements

Meet once each semester to learn ways to support students, discuss issues concerning parents, and serve as the voice of all PVAMU Parents.

  • Promote “staying connected” with the University among parents/families of current and prospective PVAMU Students.
  • Volunteer during parent & family orientation, family weekend, and other campus events.
  • Support the program by making an annual financial contribution to the parent fund.
  • Serve a one year renewable term on the Parent Council.
