The second annual Transition Into Nursing Practice: “A Blueprint for Success” event was held January 30, 2023, from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM at the PV College of Nursing, 6436 Fannin Street, Houston, Texas. This event was co-sponsored by PV National Alumni Association (Viola Hebert), PV College of Nursing (Dr. Forrest D. Smith & Dr. Sheila Harvin) , and PVAMU Department of Student Affairs (Dr. Carolyn Davis). Alumni, volunteers, and staff of the PVCON and the Department of Eleven healthcare organizations including hospitals in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, community hospitals, UTMB Galveston, and US Army and US Navy healthcare divisions partnered with the PV sponsors, to provide an informative, interactive, and inspiring career launching event targeted for fourth and fifth semester PV nursing students along with recent graduates. Employer partners conducted interviews on-site and twenty-one students were either offered jobs, pending offers or in the cue for positions within the participating organizations.
