We are always proud of our Marching Storm members that go on to do great things. Many do not know that a large share of our Marching Storm members are Engineering majors. Former Euphonium player and member of Category 5 Drum Majors was highlighted by STEM Global Action. Founded by Dr. Calvin Mackie, a New Orleans native, and former tenured Tulane University Engineering professor, STEM Global Action is designed to expose, inspire and engage members of the community into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Frank Joshua, also a New Orleans native, was connected with STEM NOLA as a high school senior where he was able to meet and form a bond with Dr. Mackie.

Frank’s mother credits his participation in band as the catalyst that kept him engaged in school, thereby setting him up for the successes he’s experiencing today. Frank was a member of the band at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans and a member of the Marching Storm at Prairie View A&M University when he arrived to study mechanical engineering.

Today he is an onsite construction project manager with D.E. Harvey Builders for a significant project in Houston.  Frank is responsible for the maintenance facility under construction at the Port of Houston. You can read more about Frank’s accomplishments and engagement with STEM NOLA here.
