Jesse Milan is a section leader of the Marching Storm Drum Line (MSD) within the Marching Storm. This past summer Jesse was fortunate to be selected by PepsiCo as a Data Analysis Intern at its facility in Frisco, TX. Understanding the importance of securing internships in the technology field, Jesse worked hard to take advantage of the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of Data Analytics, and to secure future employment.
Jesse, like most of our students at Prairie View, has been surrounded by technology and was intrigued by it. "Being an ever-changing industry, it is something that I love. One of the things I did growing up was help my parents and family members with their technology, so it just stuck with me."
Jesse was impressed by the culture and environment at PepsiCo. "I genuinely felt like a full-time employee, and it was a great learning experience." Jesse also mentioned that PepsiCo is a very inclusive and caring company.
Seeing our Storm members find success in their chosen fields is of very high importance to Dr. Zachery and his staff. Dr. Zachery mentioned, "We are proud of our student retention and graduation rates and we love seeing our graduates thrive." Jesse's advice to other students looking to secure internships, "Have an open and ready-to-learn mindset." Jesse continued, "Companies such as PepsiCo care more about your character and your willingness to learn, not just whether or not you have the actual skillset, although having that skillset definitely comes in handy!" Jesse has received an offer to work full-time at PepsiCo upon graduation. Congratulations to Jesse Milan!
