Ag Day On The Hill at Prairie View A&M University has a long and storied history of more than 35-years as an event for agriculture producers and members of the community to get an on-campus, first-hand experience with the ag researchers, program specialists, and other ag professionals within the College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR).
Averaging more than 300 participants, Ag Day On The Hill is held annually, with the exception of its pause from 2020 to 2022, and has evolved over the years, giving participants a new, timely, and relevant experience each time.
This family-friendly event is highly popular with attendees who get to engage in unique experiential learning-based workshops. The K-12 youth participate in introductory and skill-building demonstrations and programs on Day 1, while the adults engage in producer-focused ag workshops, farm demonstrations, and business networking on Day 2.
Activities are held at various locations across the Prairie View A&M University main campus, including the Carden-Waller Cooperative Extension Building, Cooperative Agricultural Research Center, Agriculture-Business Multipurpose Building and Pavilion, May Hall, and the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Farm, to name a few.
