May 24 – Endowed Professor of Water Security and Water-Energy-Food Nexus Ali Fares, Ph.D., has been named an affiliate member of the South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center (CASC).

As a South Central CASC Affiliate, Fares’ professional activity, including research and education, contributes to the mission of collaboratively developing science and tools that address the impacts of climate change on natural and cultural resources.

“Becoming an affiliate offers me the opportunity to network with regional climate adaptation leaders,” Fares said. “I am pleased to share my knowledge and research with the CASC network.”

The affiliate status allows Fares to submit proposals, attend the annual South Central CASC Science Workshop, and feature his research and publications on the SC-CASC website and Facebook page.

The Department of the Interior South Central CASC is part of a federal network of nine Climate Adaptation Science Centers managed by the U.S. Geological Survey National Climate Adaptation Science Center (NCASC). The NCASC and regional CASCs work with natural and cultural resource managers to gather scientific information and build the tools needed to help fish, wildlife, and ecosystems adapt to the impacts of climate change.
