Master of Science in Accounting
The Master of Science in Accounting program is a specialized graduate degree offered through the PVAMU College of Business. Students receive advanced training in accounting to prepare aspiring accounting professionals for careers in public, private and governmental accounting. This program assists graduates in meeting the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy prerequisites for the Uniform CPA Examination.
Accounting core classes for the MSA program are offered in a hybrid format (50% traditional classroom, 50% online) on Saturdays at the Prairie View A&M University Northwest Houston Center,n Houston, Texas. Financial Management (FINA 5310) and elective courses are offered online and in the evenings.

Students without a background or undergraduate work in accounting may be required to take some additional courses before enrolling in graduate-level accounting courses. Coursework and equivalencies taken at previous institutions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis upon submission of application materials.

BBA/MSA 4+1 Program in Accounting
The 4+1 program in accounting is designed to help undergraduate accounting majors transition smoothly into the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program. Upon successful completion of the BBA/MSA 4+1 program, students would earn two degrees: the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting and the Master of Science in Accounting.
