Students are the reason we do what we do at PVAMU, where our mission is teaching, research, and service. The Office of Research, Innovation and Sponsored Programs (ORISP) recognizes the importance of providing research opportunities to our students. Through research experience, students can sharpen their critical thinking and analytical skills, and refine their writing skills among many other benefits. ORISP is committed to creating initiatives that expand various research opportunities for our students, and we are working collectively towards ensuring that our students interested in research are supported. Working through campus-wide initiatives, we provided assistantships to graduate students and will be strengthening the undergraduate research program by supporting several students in their endeavors. Funding student research assistantships allow our students who wish to enrich their education to obtain such an experience. The Office of Research encourages the faculty and scientists to work with us to develop and expose our students to new research opportunities.

Collectively we can help our students to become contributing participants in academia and make it a shared experience. ORISP is dedicated to student research scholarship, and we are looking to doing more with our students at PVAMU.
