In this role, Reed will report directly to Senior Vice President for Strategy and Transformation Dr. Michael L. McFrazier and will play a key role in advancing the University’s institutional priorities and long-term strategic vision.

Reed brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience in large-scale organizational transformation, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement across K–12 and higher education systems. A PVAMU alumna, she returns to The Hill with a longstanding connection to the institution and a record of results-driven leadership at the intersection of institutional strategy and community impact.

Throughout her career, Reed has led enterprise-level initiatives designed to align strategy, operations, and organizational culture to achieve sustainable outcomes. Most recently, she served as National Director of K–12 Engagement and Partnerships at PBK Architects, where she guided strategic outreach efforts, supported long-range planning and bond initiatives, and advised cross-functional teams during high-stakes engagements with education leaders nationwide.

Previously, Reed served as Chief of Staff and Chief Communications Officer for Aldine Independent School District. In that role, she oversaw communications, government relations, community engagement, athletics, and foundation operations for a district serving more than 58,000 students and 9,000 employees. Her work included leading strategic planning and change management efforts, helping secure more than $750 million in grant funding, spearheading a comprehensive organizational rebrand, and advancing initiatives focused on internal culture, equity, and staff engagement.

Reed’s professional experience also includes senior leadership roles with Houston Independent School District and Spring Independent School District, where she directed communications for multi-billion-dollar bond programs, served as a district spokesperson during periods of transition and crisis, and increased organizational visibility through strategic storytelling and media engagement.

Reed previously served Prairie View A&M University as Executive Director of Communications, leading university-wide branding and communications efforts. During her tenure, she launched the institution’s first alumni magazine, 1876 Magazine, and supported enrollment, advancement, and alumni engagement initiatives. Although her formal employment with the University concluded in 2014, her advocacy and connection to Prairie View A&M University have remained ongoing.

An accomplished communications and strategy professional, Reed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from PVAMU and a Master of Science in Journalism from Texas Christian University. She also holds the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential through the Universal Accreditation Board.

Reed and her husband, Antonio, are the parents of two future Panthers, Alden and Anders.

Reed’s appointment supports Prairie View A&M University’s continued progress toward the goals of Journey to Eminence 2035 and its efforts to strengthen institutional impact across the state, nation, and global community.
