PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Jan. 27, 2026) – Prairie View A&M University will resume normal operations on Wednesday, January 28. We appreciate your resilience during this week’s winter storm and remain committed to supporting a safe and orderly return for our campus community. Please review the information provided below as we transition back to on-site instruction and services.
Return to In-Person Instruction
All courses scheduled in a face-to-face format will resume in-person instruction on Wednesday. Students enrolled in clinical, practicum, or field-based programs should consult their respective colleges for any additional guidance. Students are also encouraged to monitor their PVAMU email and the University Calendar for updates, important deadlines, and potential adjustments to course schedules.
Please be sure to remain up-to-date by checking your email regularly and reviewing the University Calendar for information about class schedules, important dates and deadlines, and university operations. If you do not receive communication about your classes or remain uncertain about opening or closure dates, please contact your instructor.
On-Campus Building Conditions
Due to the recent extreme weather, some campus facilities may experience cooler interior temperatures as systems continue to stabilize. Students, faculty, and staff are advised to dress warmly and consider layered clothing to maintain comfort throughout the day. The University’s facilities team is working diligently to restore normal temperature conditions as quickly as possible. To report maintenance issues, call ext. 9703.
Dining, Recreation, and Transportation Services
The Student Recreation Center, Campus Dining Services, and the Shuttle Service will resume their normal hours of operation beginning Wednesday.
Thank you for your cooperation as we restore standard operations across Prairie View A&M University. The University remains dedicated to ensuring a safe, stable, and productive environment for teaching, learning, and work. We value the contributions of every member of our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus.
