Raghava Rao Kommalapati, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, F.ASCE has been elected as Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the leading professional association affiliated with Civil Engineering.  Dr. Kommalapati is currently the director of the National Science Foundation CREST Center for Energy  and Environmental Safety and professor of civil and environmental engineering.  This honor is all the more exceptional because less than 4% of ASCE members are recognized as Fellows.

Dr. Kommalapati  has several areas of expertise including:  air quality modeling, fog-air interactions, remediation of contaminated soils and design and optimization of wind turbine design.  Throughout his career, Dr. Kommalapati has received grant funding in excess of $10 million and has published more than 125 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings and presentations.
