Prairie View A&M University congratulates Dr. Paul Potier on being appointed the Head of the Department of Engineering Technology in the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering. Dr. Potier also holds the position of Associate Professor. Most recently, Dr. Potier served as a professor at Austin Community College in the Electronics and Advanced Technologies department.
Dr. Potier comes to the position with more than 25 years of industry experience, including positions at Motorola, ExxonMobil, and IBM. At Motorola, as a Principal Program Manager, he led custom semiconductor development engineering projects for several cellular phone products. He has also been involved with data network engineering at Motorola and ExxonMobil, as well as communication electronics projects at IBM.
Dr. Potier, a native of Houston, holds a Ph.D. from Prairie View A&M University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. All of his degrees are in Electrical Engineering. He has published several peer reviewed papers in the area of network management and cognitive radio systems, and holds one U.S. Patent.
