PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Oct. 1, 2025) – The main campus has resumed normal operations.

(Sept. 30, 2025) The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is always our top priority. Earlier today, the University temporarily evacuated the John B. Coleman Library following a reported bomb threat. In keeping with our safety protocols, the campus community was immediately notified, and University Police worked closely with local law enforcement partners to investigate.

University Police, in coordination with local law enforcement, has given the all-clear following today’s reported threat. While there is no ongoing risk to campus safety, classes and on-campus activities will remain canceled, and employees will continue remote work for the rest of today. Essential personnel remain on site. Normal operations will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The Memorial Student Center and student dining hall will remain open and continue normal business hours of operation.

We are grateful for the swift response of law enforcement and the cooperation of our campus community as we worked to ensure everyone’s safety.
