Dear Panther Community,
The University is taking elevated safety precautions due to more frequent safety threats to Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) and higher education institutions nationwide.
You will notice a heightened police presence in and around campus as we continue to investigate any threats to all PVAMU campuses. We partner regularly with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to assess all reported threats. Any threat that requires your action will be communicated immediately through the Panther Alert System, which includes phone calls, text messages, emails, and Rave Guardian notifications. These alerts will include clear instructions to help guide your response. Please ensure your contact information is currentĀ so you can receive these messages immediately and follow the instructions provided.
We ask you, as members of our community, to maintain a heightened awareness of your surroundings and report anything unusual or concerning by contacting the University Police Department, 936-261-1375, or dialing 911. If you see something, say something.
Your attentiveness plays a vital role in keeping our campus safe. Remember the resources that are available to you, counseling services to support your mental and emotional health, and campus safety education tools to ensure your preparedness for emergencies.
Panthers, look out for one another, stay informed, and take care of one another.
