Dear Students,

As we begin this academic year, I applaud your resilience, dedication, and hard work over the past year.

Prairie View A&M University strives to provide a high-quality educational experience to all students. As you continue the path to achieving your academic goals, I encourage you to stay focused, stay the course, and never give up. We are here for you and will be cheering for you.

To our first-year and transfer students: we extend a warm welcome to ā€œThe Hillā€ and hope that this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to learning and service. We hope you are enlightened in your studies as you gain new knowledge and experiences and create lifelong friendships and memories at PV.

At PV, we have many resources to assist you in being successful in your studies, and we ask that you take full advantage of these opportunities. For your academic needs, visit the Writing Center and the Tutoring Center to assist with your class instruction and assignments and the Academic Help Desk to answer your academic-related questions.

Your mental and physical well-being also is very important to us; you are encouraged to take advantage of the Counseling Center and the Recreation Center, with amenities and activities that can serve as a well-earned break from your studies. Stay connected and get involved in one of over 200 student clubs and organizations on campus.

A complete list of the resources provided in Student Affairs can be found under the Campus Life tab on the University’s website.

Please remain safe as we continue to live and work through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If you are not vaccinated, please consider doing so and practice social distancing and daily recommended personal hygiene. Having a safe campus for you to live and learn is important. Therefore, the University will continue to work with CDC and local public health authorities to address any health concerns we face throughout the academic year.

I look forward to greeting you as we move across the campus this academic year.

Go Panthers!

Regards,

Beverly Copeland, PhD, RD, LD
