  • PVAMU’s Gulf Sustainability Program (GSP) examines key regional challenges, including socio-political-economic issues, energy systems, and environmental degradation in the Gulf Region.
  • The program aims to establish a Texas Gulf Sustainability Minor and Certificate, integrate sustainability into existing courses, and provide co-curricular opportunities for professional development.
  • Drawing from diverse faculty expertise across ten disciplines (from philosophy to chemical engineering), the program prepares students to become effective change agents through unique and innovative approaches.

This project is funded by the Gulf Research Program of the National Academies. The program seeks to “prepare undergraduate students to address pressing environmental, health, energy, and infrastructure challenges in the Gulf of Mexico region.”
