Welcome to the Department of Psychology at Prairie View A&M University!

It is my great pleasure to serve as Chair of a department that is deeply committed to academic excellence, student development, and transformative community engagement. Whether you are a current or prospective student, a faculty or staff member, a collaborator, or a visitor interested in our work—thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.

We are preparing the next generation of leaders, researchers, clinicians, educators, and changemakers who will use psychological science to make a meaningful difference. Our undergraduate program provides a strong foundation in psychological theory, research methods, and applied skills. As we look to the future, we are actively developing new graduate-level training programs that reflect the evolving needs of our students, the discipline, and the communities we serve. Our faculty bring a wide range of expertise. They are actively engaged in research and community initiatives, and they are deeply invested in mentoring and supporting students.

As a department, we are currently undergoing an exciting period of transition and growth. We are evaluating our academic offerings, expanding partnerships, and reimagining what it means to serve students in a rapidly changing world. At the heart of all we do is a commitment to excellence, equity, and care.
