Research

The goal of Tesema’s research group is to better understand electronic and photonic materials and to increase their efficiency at nanoscale for their application in organic photovoltaics, chemical sensing, photothermal therapy, plasmon-enhanced molecular spectroscopy, and plasmon-mediated chemical processes. The studies encompass the following:

  • Synthesis, Fabrication, and optical characterization of plasmonic nanosensor and nanofilter.
  • Hybrid metal-polymer nanoparticles for environmental remediation
  • Nanoparticles for biomedical imaging
