Jimmy and Patricia Williams met at Prairie View A&M University and have been married for 36 years. He proposed to Patricia in McKinley National Park in June of 1980, and they married August 22, 1981. What does love mean to you?
Jimmy – Love means to share your desires, concerns, possessions, and future with another person.
What has marriage taught you?
Patricia – Marriage has taught me that everything that happens to me is not all about me but impacts another person as well. That includes both the good and bad things.
How has PVAMU played a role in your lives?
Jimmy- Prairie View is where we met and matured from teenagers to adults. It’s where we learned lessons that helped us with life and with a livelihood.
What is your favorite part about Valentine’s Day?
Pat and Jimmy – Our favorite part about Valentine’s Day is just being together; 36 years and counting.
What is the most memorable gesture your spouse has done for you?
Jimmy – My spouse has given me two beautiful daughters who grew up to be ladies who are God-fearing, productive, giving and devoted to others. These traits came from her.
