Gregory and Toni Joesph met through social media when they were both students at Prairie View A&M University. The newlyweds recently tied the know August 6, 2017, in Houston, TX after a memorable proposal. Greg visited Toni in New York during her internship with plans of changing her life, forever. They were waiting at the train station to go to Washington D.C. for the weekend when Greg popped the question. He waited for the train to arrive and on July 1, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. ET, Gregory and Toni became engaged to be married.

What does love mean to you?

Toni- Love to me means you have someone that is there for you regardless of if you have your best day or not. It means you care about their wellbeing just as much as your own if not even more. Love is a level of emotional commitment that should only be reserved for one person. It is trusting your partner; waking up every day and choosing that you are going to love that person no matter what.

How has PVAMU played a role in your lives?

Gregory –PVAMU played a huge role in our lives. For starters, we are both students of the COB. Ironically I started with Accounting (which is her major currently) and switched to Management Information Systems. Without that move, there is probably no chance we would ever meet. Also, PVAMU played a role in our marriage, with 90% of the bridal party being all PV affiliated and even our wedding officiant is a current professor in the COB. Of course, soon PVAMU will be the place where we both graduated from.

What is your favorite thing about Valentine’s Day?

Toni – My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is the time spent with my spouse quite simply. You cannot get time missed with your spouse back. Every day counts.

Describe your spouse in three words:

Greg –

Determined – She reaches for the sky with everything she does. No matter how big or small the task is, if she decides that she is going to conquer something, she will not rest until the job has been completed.

Champion – Just hearing about how she made it all the way to Prairie View A&M University and the things she has had to endure on her journey brings this word to mind. She has accomplished a lot in the time I have known her, and I am excited to see her achieve many more great things.

Loving – She is the most nurturing woman I have ever met. She really cares about a lot of people and their successes in life. She holds everyone accountable when it comes to handling business. If I am having a bad day, she can pick up instantly what I’m feeling and assure me that tomorrow is always a brighter day.
